INDIVIDUAL & GROUP THERAPY FOR NEURODIVERSE CHILDREN IN THE BALTIMORE AREA

We provide structured, collaborative and multi-sensory social experiences that help your child connect with like-minded learners in ways that feel fun and accessible.

Your child might be struggling to find meaningful and,
sometimes, appropriate ways to communicate, connect and feel successful  in their academic and social worlds.

They may feel more safe and comfortable in their home environment, resulting in big feelings “spillover” with you at home. They may shut down, internalize, cry, lash out, yell, make inappropriate comments and/or jokes, act in “bizarre” ways in the moment and under pressure.

You know and we know that your child likely does not WANT to feel this way or act this way. So, why are they doing this? These are the ways they know how to communicate and it shows that they need support to learn the, sometimes, extensive skill set to do things differently.

Deep down, we know that your child wants to feel connected, included, and like they belong.

We know that they want to meet others like them, even if they do not know that (yet). We know that the way to bridge the gap between their perceived problems and solutions is by teaching them (and you!) concrete strategies, which feel accessible and attainable.

By doing so, they gain confidence, skills and, hopefully, begin to learn to generalize those strategies and that learning from sessions to other settings.

Meet Briana Quinlan, LCSW-C

Hello! I’m Briana.

I am here to help your child feel calmer and more confident about themselves and to support them in achieving their social, emotional, and learning goals.

I am passionate about this work as an individual impacted by ADHD and anxiety who has tapped into her creative strengths to navigate an ever evolving and complex world.

My approach is laid back, fun, and relatable. I have advanced clinical training in Michelle Garcia Winner's Social Thinking Methodology, and I use expressive modalities, sensory integration, mindfulness and other evidence based practices to enhance learning and motivation.

“Our whole family looks forward to the Thursday social skills group! Our son enjoys the activities and has made friends there. I think he is learning from the group. Between school and other outside therapy, it's hard to parse exactly what therapy is responsible for his improvement, but Briana's group is definitely an important piece of the puzzle. Of the many extra-curriculars in which we've enrolled our son, Briana's group is hands-down his favorite.”

“My favorite thing about working with Ms Briana Is that she's real. I know what you're probably thinking, ‘What?! Of course, she's real!’ What I mean is that she is not always happy. She has emotions too and will share them with me, knowing that it makes me feel safe and comfortable to express that it's okay to not always be happy and to also feel more than one emotion at a time.”
